Our Deer Hollow team has one mission—to treat trauma where it lives inside you, and help you build the tools you need to successfully move forward in your life. Our team is dedicated, compassionate, and exceptionally qualified, and has developed Deer Hollow into the premier trauma-focused mental health treatment center in the country.

Our multi-disciplinary team includes master’s level mental health clinicians, a board-certified psychiatrist and substance abuse specialist, medical provider, and licensed substance abuse counselors.

Owner/Founder

Troy founded Deer Hollow with one passion—to help people in pain from trauma. His passion comes from personal experience, and a true love for others. Troy engages with every client who comes to Deer Hollow, welcomes them, and let’s them know they are in a non-judgement, safe place of healing. Troy loves to spend time with his wife and family. He is a father figure to many, and a true gentleman to all.

Genevieve Mannor
Executive Director

Genevieve has been in the healthcare industry for more than 20 years with a focus in behavioral health. She is highly experienced in building and leading exceptional teams that meet the needs of individuals struggling with the impact and effects of trauma. She has held leadership positions in hospital administration, program development, and marketing. She has also co-developed a residential military program promoting mental health education to active duty military and their families. Genevieve has been with Deer Hollow since its inception and has witnessed clients find help, hope, and healing through our programs. She has a degree in social work from Oregon State University, and is in the process of earning an Executive MBA from the University of Utah.

Dr. Monica Polk, D.O.
Medical Director

Dr. Polk is driven by a deep belief in the importance of mental health and providing the most caring and comprehensive treatment to every person she works with at Deer Hollow. She graduated in 2003 from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed an Adult Psychiatry Residency at the Institute of Living in Hartford, CT., and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in PA. She also completed a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC., in addition to a Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

Amy Crawford, PhD, LMFT & Trauma Specialist
Clinical Director

Amy has spent 23 years as a therapist, educator, trauma recovery coach, trainer, and speaker. She holds a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Transformative Psychology, a Doctorate degree in Traditional Naturopathy, and a M.A. in Counseling Psychology. Amy has spent the majority of her career treating the invisible wounds of trauma, with a focus on Military Service Members and First Responders. Amy has had the honor of witnessing more than 4,000 trauma accounts. She is certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, EMDR, MBSR, and she is a registered yoga teacher. Amy is wildly passionate about her work and loves holding hope for others as they step into their healing and recovery.

Erica Agliano, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC
Medical Provider

Erica has worked in the medical field for over ten years, with significant focus on mental health and addiction. Her passion for these specialties inspired her to obtain a Doctoral Degree as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of Utah. As a provider, she recognizes there is more to treatment than medication, and encourages her patients to take an active role in their recovery through exercise, a healthy diet, and therapy. Erica has been a part of Deer Hollow since it opened in 2015. She has been an active part of its growth into becoming the leading mental health treatment center in the country, with its holistic program focusing on addressing trauma as the root cause of symptoms and behaviors.

Meghan Jones
Director of Operations

Meghan has spent 10 years in the mental health industry. She has significant experience developing program efficiencies and leading cross-team collaborations. Meghan ensures the efficient and seamless performance of Deer Hollow’s operations, systems, and departments.

Lisa Ferguson
Director of Admissions

Lisa has significant experience in relationship management. She is committed to the highest level of professionalism, care, and kindness in helping our clients through the process of making the life changing decision to come to Deer Hollow. She has been in the treatment field for eight years, as an Admissions Director and Director of Business Development. Before joining Deer Hollow, Lisa spent 15 years as a mortgage broker.

Alisa Sanford, LCSW
Clinical Manager

Alisa Sanford has been immersed in the field of mental health since 2008, embarking on her journey as a mental health technician and progressing to roles in recreational therapy and therapy itself. She proudly holds a bachelor’s degree in recreational therapy and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Utah.

Alisa has honed her therapeutic skills over the years and boasts proficiency in various modalities, including IFS (level two trained), EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Psychodrama.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Alisa finds joy in spending quality time with her family and savoring the great outdoors. She is an avid enthusiast of outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, snowboarding, and horseback riding.

Stacy Sainsbury, LMFT
Outpatient Program Manager

Stacy Sainsbury is a dedicated Marriage and Family Therapist, currently serving as the Clinical Director of the Outpatient Program at Deer Hollow Recovery. With a decade of experience working with First Responders and Military personnel, Stacy has developed a deep passion for supporting this community. Her expertise lies in trauma therapy, and she predominantly utilizes an Internal Family Systems (IFS) approach. In addition to IFS, Stacy is trained in various therapeutic frameworks, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Mind-Body Bridging (MBB), Psychodrama, and Schema Therapy, among others.

Mitch VanWagoner, LCSW, LASW
Telehealth Program Manager

Mitch is an experienced mental health professional with over five years of working in the trauma recovery and addiction field. Holding a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Utah and presently credentialed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Mitch is devoted to assisting individuals in their healing and recovery journey from the devastating impacts of trauma, particularly focusing on first responders and members of the military. Specializing in modalities such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mind-Body Bridging (MBB), the Gottman Method, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mitch employs an integrative approach to trauma treatment. Beyond work, Mitch finds meaning and enjoyment in the natural world, often participating in outdoor activities and exploring aquatic environments. Mitch is also a musician at heart, finding creative expression and enjoyment through piano and singing.
